When asked how they came up with the name “Rapsadoodle”, the owners said it was a play on the words “Sarap” (delicious) and “Doodle”.
One entire wall of Rapsadoodle is filled with scribbles of pick-up lines and quotes, loudly resonating a unique element in Filipino culture. The place has a casual, chill vibe with affordable prices, fit for students and people who are mindful of their pockets.
This resto serves Filipino comfort food. True enough, the food was masarap. One of the dishes I really liked was the Beef Pares with Isaw. (They also have it without isaw.) The sauce was thick and sweet, and it had the right amount of garlic for accentuation.
I also enjoyed the Sizzling Chicken Tinola. It may not taste like your usual tinola, but I personally like it better this way. It has this thick gravy that makes you think you’re eating KFC, except without the greasy skin.
Another one of my favorites is the Pares Glazed Ribs, because it’s so tender and juicy! The meat was so moist, and the mashed potatoes went really well with the sauce.
Rapsadoodle also serves their own version of buffalo wings. One of them is the Pares Glazed Wings for those who prefer something savoury, and the Sirachamansi Wings, which is galzed with Sriracha and Calamansi. (The spiciness is subtle, good for those who can’t hold their spice.)
Finally, we had the Pork Sisig with some chicharon bits and egg, just the way I like it. Not too greasy.
